FlashNews: Paris, Tuesday, 25. July:- A Concorde, chartered by a German tour operator for a flight to New York, crashed shortly after takeoff from Charles-de-Gaulle airport at 16:44 today. It was feared that all of the passengers and crew were killed. Four others were killed in a hotel near where the fully-tanked supersonic jet crashed, near Gonesse in the Val d'Oise. Witnesses said one of the aircraft's engines was on fire as it left the airport runway. Authorities declared a 'Plan Red' and Prime Minister Jospin was at the scene of the disaster.
